Life is a nature documentary series made by BBC television, first broadcast as part of the BBC's "Darwin Season" on BBC One and BBC HD from October to December 2009. The series takes a global view of the specialised strategies and extreme behaviour that living things have developed in order to survive; what Charles Darwin termed "the struggle for existence". Four years in the making, the series has been shot entirely in high definition.

Credit card purchases for transplants of body organs result in some non-payment problems in the future when accounts fall into the arrears. When a customer falls behind in payment, Remy (Jude Law) and Jake (Forest Whitaker) are called in by creditors to repossess the heart, liver, or whatever has been purchased. Frank (Live Schreiber) thinks they are the best at their quick ambulance work, taking organs almost immediately after the delinquent customer is put under anesthesia. Though Remy is tops at cutting, he has lost his heart for the job and helps fugitive Beth (Alice Braga) go on the run to keep from being relieved of her transplant. His wife Carol (Carice van Houten) has also told him to lose the career or lose her.
The Human Centipede

American girls Lindsay (Ashley C. Williams) and Jenny (Ashlynn Yennie) are traveling through Europe, and are enjoying their time spent clubbing and sightseeing. When their car breaks down during the road trip, they find themselves what appears to be an empty house to stay in for the night. When they wake the next morning, however, they discover that the house wasn't empty. Instead, the meet a Japanese man named Katsuro (Akihiro Kitamura), who, like the girls, has been captured inside of this house. The group meets Dr. Heiter (Dieter Laser), a retired surgeon. Dr. Heiter used to be well known for his ability to separate Siamese twins, but now he has an opposite, sinister plan - he wants to make what he refers to as a human centipede, meaning that he wants to connect people together. After stumbling upon something worse than any of them could ever imagine, can Lindsay, Jenny, and Katsuro find a way our of this nightmare?
Death At A Funeral

Aaron (Chris Rock) and Ryan (Martin Lawrence) are organizing their father’s funeral. Aaron is married to Michelle (Regina Hall) who wants to buy a separate house and have children. Aaron envies Ryan because Ryan is a successful writer while Aaron is still struggling to get his books published. Further, Ryan does not want to share the funeral expenses. As their father’s lover Frank (Peter Dinklage) turns up at the funeral, they get to know that their father was gay. Amidst chaos Aaron shouts for everyone’s attention to the funeral saying that he just wants to give his father a respectful send off. Eventually Aaron and Ryan have a more peaceful parting when Ryan goes back to LA.

The city decides to sacrifice Princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos) to placate the gods, but Perseus decides to save her from the monsterous Kraken. His mission is complicated when gods take sides to help or hinder his progress. Io (Gemma Arterto) remains a steadfast spiritual guide. Poseidon (Danny Huston) and Apollo (Luke Evans) offer their assistance in the race to save Argos from divine wrath.

Just as convincing--and just as impressive in its use of cutting-edge CGI--is the 50-minute bonus program Pompeii: The Final Day, which chronicles the final 24 hours of Pompeii when it was decimated by the ultraviolent eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24, 79 A.D. Inspired by the written descriptions of Pliny the Younger (whose detailed observations were later vindicated by geological science), recovered artifacts, and the haunting remains of Pompeii citizens preserved under tons of pumice and ash, Pompeii is first-rate from start to finish, proving yet again that the BBC is now setting the standard in lavishly produced docudrama programming.
