With the help of Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), Dre learns much needed skills in order to defend himself and his pride at a Kung Fu Tournament. Dre knew very little martial arts and Mr. Han was not a conventional teacher. Together they work to overcome their downfalls and the Karate Kid finally learns how to defend himself with honor.
