The Coors - The Best Of

Music
USA  /  English

The Best of the Corrs video collection follows far behind their first "Best of" CD collection, which hit the shops in 2001. Perhaps an explanation for this delay is the band's sometimes contradictory concern to promote their music rather than their image. This is further demonstrated by the simple, formulaic videos on the collection which, apart from "Give Me a Reason", all feature the four hammering their respective instruments.

Maroon 5 - Friday The 13th

Music
USA  /  English

Here the soul-tinged pop/rock act runs through every tune from JANE, including audience-interactive versions of "This Love," the breezy "She Will Be Loved," and a rendition of "Secret" that works in the Bill Withers classic "Ain't No Sunshine." As always, frontman Adam Levine's plaintive, Stevie Wonder-like vocals carry the songs, with the rest of the band providing tight backing. During the show, the Los Angeles-based group also offers up a new original track, the gently funky "Wasted Years," and an unlikely (and surprisingly faithful) cover of Oasis's "Hello," which proves to be the concert's most rocked-out moment. Although this release is truly for Maroon 5 diehards, anyone who appreciates the quintet's amiable pop will be entertained by FRIDAY THE 13TH as well.

George Michael - Ladies And Gentleman The Best Of

Music
USA  /  English

After shooting to fame as half of the pop duo Wham! back in the '80s, George Michael enjoyed a blockbuster solo career through the '80s and early '90s before the scandalous arrest that forced him to come out of the closet. "Ladies And Gentlemen: Best Of George Michael" features the hit music videos from Michaels' long and varied career, everything from the bittersweet "Careless Whispers" to the dance hits "Sex" and "Freedom" (featuring a number of the most famous supermodels of the era lip-syncing to Michaels' vocals).

Destiny's Child - Live In Atlanta

Music
USA  /  English

Though officially disbanded, Destiny's Child proves in this concert video why they're one of the most successful soul/R&B groups of all time. Filmed at Atlanta's Phillips Arena during their Destiny Fulfilled farewell tour, the trio pulled all the stops--short of flying over the audience--to put on a spectacular show for their fans. Opening the show with their Grammy-winning "Say My Name," the group--who famously sang while running around a track as girls to build their lung strength--belted their harmonies and runs while dancing through a medley of hits including "No, No, No," "Bugaboo," "Bills, Bills, Bills," "Bootylicious" and "Jumpin' Jumpin.'" The concert not only featured their greatest hits, but jammed in singles from their final album, Destiny Fulfilled. The girls sang the slinky "Cater 2 U" while giving lap dances to three lucky male audience members, while "Soldier" (with choreography that emulated Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation") included guest-star rappers T.I. and Lil' Wayne. The group closed with their anthem "Survivor," and the peppy "Lose My Breath" which featured a waterfall onstage that doused the singers.

Block Party

Comedy, Music, Documentary
USA  /  English

Dave Chappelle is at it again with this documentary/movie Block Party. Chappelle hosts a block party in New York City. It's always a lot of fun to watch any Dave Chappelle movie, but this one shows a different side to the comedian. Don't get me wrong, the movie is really funny. And, Chappelle delivers his usual comedic charm. It was great watching Dave interact with the non-hollywood people. Clips of Dave going all over promoting his block party are sure to leave you with side you've never seen before. This movie is filled with celebrity cameos, music, sketch comedy. The Fugees and Kanye West make appearances that you do not want to miss.

The Pussycat Dolls - Live From London

Journey - Live In Houston 1981 Escape Tour

Music
USA  /  English

Filmed by a four month-old MTV and just days into the band's first number one album Escape, Journey is at their peak. The recent addition of FM-friendly keyboardist/co-songwriter Jonathan Cain (fresh from the Babys) proved to be the final addition that the constantly changing concept band would need to crash both radio and retail charts. The concert DVD shows rows of fans in the same red-sleeved concert jerseys getting their fill of the hits "Don't Stop Believin'," "Stone in Love," "Who's Crying Now," "Open Arms," "Anyway You Want It," "Wheel In The Sky," and "Lights." Stage-wise, there is very little in terms of visual style with the exception of a few rows of gel lights to move with the music and a pair of spotlights that move with unlikely idols Steve Perry and Neal Schon. In this day and age of MTV Video Music Awards and TRL it is difficult to understand how a band of thirty-somethings in hiked-up blue jeans easily delivered the ballads to break young girls' hearts and the glass-pack rock to fuel young boys' Firebirds.

Beatles - Let It Be

Documentary, Music
USA  /  English

Originally it was entitled as 'Get Back' showing the Beatles rehearsing, jamming and performing for their new songs. This is the only documentary film released officially and was then changed to be called 'Let It Be'. It marks the ending of the career of the Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCarthy, George Harrison, & Ringo Starr). A message about the career of the Beatles told by the Beatles themselves. This video has won the 1966 Grammy Awards for "Best Music Video, long form". The Beatles had, as Paul said at the end of the video, "united for somehow, some way". The band was filmed rehearsing and recording songs. It tried to show the creative process of making a Beatles album. But it was at that time when the Beatles were all fighting with each other, so it really showed how the Beatles were breaking up. They argue with each other and are concerned with their own individual songs, rather than the group songs. However, they weren't always fighting and it gives a look at the process of making the songs and working them so they would sound better musically. This is a documentary and it is interesting because it is real! Relive The Beatles Music, Genius, & Magic!
