The life of the 17 year old Ronnie Miller (Miley Cyrus) turned upside when her parents divorced and her father moved to Wilmington, New York. It had happened 3 years ago, but her anger hasn't pass, and the girl estranged her self from her parents, especially father. Despite that, she without her own will goes to visit him on summer. But their relationships are still far from being good. Veronica's father is former pianist and teacher, who's passing calm life in coastal town. Now he's working on creating the picture which will be presented in local church. Trying to establish contact with the daughter, her father resorts to the help of music, which is his only common interest with Veronica.
