Sting (Gordon Sumner) had long before planned a concert at his private villa in Tuscany on September 11, 2001, and the events that transpired in the United States on that day weighed heavily on the singer and his band. Beforehand, he is shown rehearsing his new album, and filming a video. As the news of the catastrophe of 9/11 became more dire, Sting altered the idea of what he would perform that night from an Italian villa. He chose to re-interpret his songs to become more dirge-like and commemorate the events that had taken place and the thousands who were now dead. Sting introduces his music with a lack of ease, but finds there is some comfort in the tunes that seem to give his concert audience some solace. His tune “Fragile” became strikingly poignant.
