Woodstock - 3 Days of Peace & Music

USA / English
Documentary / Music

This movie is a visual time capsule of the 1960's. It is not merely about the music, but about the social, moral, political and sexual freedom changes that occurred in the decade. It is a visual feast of colors and psychedelic art that is in stark contrast to the black and white world of "I Love Lucy" 1950's decade. The cast of characters is not limited to the performers. The thousands upon thousands of happy, joyous and free young people that converged on the tiny Upstate New York Hamlet of Woodstock, New York all gave fine emotional "performances". No one in attendance or anyone who sees the movie will every forget the raw, dramatic, emotional performances of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. Both of these magical, ethereal performers lives ended not long after this historic event. Both of them achieved immortality through their music and their persona, yet like the decade itself, were doomed to die out way too soon.
