"People I Know" centers around one Eli Wurman (Al Pacino) a decadent drug addicted New York public relation official who is in charge of promoting a Afro-American social event. On the days leading to the social event, Eli begins to learn the world around him is not as it seems. While making contacts and kissing up to them in anyway he knows how with the help of Victoria Gray (Kim Basinger) a ex-lover and his chief client, Cary Launer (Ryan O'Neal), Eli soon learns that something much more powerful is connected to the big event coming up and that life for him may never be the same again.
