Kenny (Guy Davis) is a young hip hop artist in the Bronx slums with his young brother Lee (Robert Taylor) and their mother Cora (Mary Alice), and who dreams of becoming a famous DJ on the Manhattan nightclub scene. When a composer and choreographer named Tracy (Rae Dawn Chong) meets Kenny, she encourages him to pursue his dream as a romance blooms between the two musicians, despite their disparate backgrounds
