Clive Nicoli (Adrien Brody) and Elsa Kast (Sarah Polley) are young, ambitious scientists who are trying to find success in their corporate science jobs. In order to speed along the process they were hired for, they decide to break all the rules and combine human D.N.A. with animal genes to try to find the required protein needed by their company. What they get instead is a new creature - part human, part animal - who they name Dren (Delphine Chaneac). Her strengths and abilities are amazing, but as Dren continues to grow and learn, she quickly becomes very dangerous.
