Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief was a charity telethon held on January 22, 2010 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (January 23, 2010 from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. UTC). The telethon was the most widely distributed telethon in history.[1] The event was broadcast from Studio 36 at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, New York and a private club, The Hospital, in London. There were also live reports from Haiti.
Funds raised by the telethon and from the sale of its album and video – immediately made available for pre-order on iTunes – are to be distributed to seven non-profit organizations doing relief work in Haiti.
Wyclef Jean hosted the concert in New York City, with George Clooney in Los Angeles and Anderson Cooper in Haiti. Rihanna revealed on 21 January that she would perform a new song titled "Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)", together with Jay-Z and U2's The Edge and Bono for the telethon in London. In San Francisco, Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon appealed for donations.

Samantha Hughes (Joceline Donahue) is a college student in the 1980's and is babysitting during a lunar eclipse. Her strange clients, Mr. and Mrs. Ulman (Ton Noonan and Mary Woronov) have a secret. When Samantha arrives she discovers that there is no baby. The Ulmans lure Samantha to their old, creepy mansion in the woods to watch the lunar eclipse. Megan (Greta Gerwig) is Samantha’s best friend and gives her a ride out to the mansion and leaves. The Ulman’s secret is revealed when Samantha realizes that they plan to use her in a satanic ritual.

Among the things that go wrong for her are a chewing out from the neighbor for not cleaning up after her dog and having to show up at school in her night gown when her daughter forgets her book bag. That is just the beginning as the day gets worse. At the end of the day Eliza’s husband (Anthony Edwards) who always seems to be away from home takes Eliza to the rooftop for a surprise. Thinking her day could not get any worse, Eliza realizes things may not be so bad after all.

The Year of Living Dangerously is the story of an accomplished journalist named Guy Hamilton (Mel Gibson) who is tasked with covering political intrigue in Indonesia. There Hamilton covers a potentially impactful President named Sukarno and becomes one very comfortable with local life and customs. He also meets a beautiful American diplomat named Jill (Sigourney Weaver), who lights the passion of Guy’s interest in the country and love. As the political climate in the country becomes hotter and more unstable, their romance faces a severe divergence as they take opposite sides, and must decide their own futures. Their lives are also in jeopardy as the country begins to grow more hostile and militant towards foreigners.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards took place on January 31, 2010, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Neil Young was honored as the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year on January 29, two days prior to the Grammy telecast. Only nine of the 109 awards were received during the broadcast. The remaining awards were given during the un-televised portion of the ceremony which preceded the broadcast. Performers are Lady GaGa, Elton John, Green Day, Beyonce, Pink, Black Eye Peas, Jamie Fox, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Eminem and many more including the Tribute Performance to Michael Jackson.
