Tommy (James Marsden) returns from Desert Storm amid issues with his behavior and possible consequences. The FBI convinces him in exchange for his exploits overseas, he must go back to his family in Pennsylvania and rebuild his bond with his brother Vincent (Brad Renfro) and cousin Joey (Giovanni Ribisi) and uncover information on a crime syndicate dealing heroine that they are involved with. Tommy is convinced he can get the information for the FBI and keep him and his family safe at the same time. Tommy has to balance his love and devotion to his brother, his cousin, and to a old friend (Brandy-Piper Perabo) who has become a love interest while trying to do what is right to protect himself and his family.
