Hope comes with letting go is the tag line of “Things We Lost in the Fire”. When Audrey Burke (Halle Berry) learns of her husband, Brian’s untimely death it sends her into a deep state of depression. Now Audrey finds life unbearable and is left with memories of an 11-year marriage and her two children. Enter Jerry Sunborne (Benicio Del Torro), down and out addict and best friend of Audrey’s late husband. In a hope to still the feelings of loss, Audrey invites Jerry to live with her and her children. Things take an unexpected twist as Jerry helps Audrey heal and let go as well as becoming a friend and father figure to the two children. Only with all their combined strengths can they move on.
