CIA agent Valerie Plame (Naomi Watts) was discredited by the United States government after her husband, Sam Plame (Sam Shepard) wrote a very discrediting New York Times article. The article was about the Bush Administration and the manipulation of intelligence reports regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Now Valerie not only has to clear her name and credentials but she also has to clear her husband’s reputation. Armed with only the truth of what she knows to be reality, she is led by the shadowy aid of Joe Wilson (Sean Penn) who helps her to survive.
