When Regina (Anna Paquin) and her family move to an old country house in rural Spain, they are all looking forward to a fresh start. Her father, Mark (Iain Glen) welcomes the opportunity to reconcile with his long estranged father, Albert Rua (Giancarlo Giannini), a physician with whom her mother, Maria (Lena Olin) will be working in the local city’s hospital. In the course of settling into their new home however, Regina begins to sense and even see odd occurrences while her younger brother, Paul (Stephan Enquist) becomes increasingly fearful with his new surroundings. He tells her he has witnessed in his own bedroom a strange force rolling pencils across the floor and into the darkness under his bed and that he has both seen and heard the voices of other children in the room as well. To complicate matters, their father, recently recovered from a bout with unusual mental breaks, begins experiencing flashback memories triggered by his return to the town and this house which send him once again spiraling into psychological torment. Regina, along with her new friend, Carlos (Fele Martinez), seeks to uncover the history of their new home in an attempt to understand and overcome the strange phenomena they have all been experiencing. Will Regina unravel the connections between the house, the coming lunar eclipse, ancient Satanic rituals and her own family’s dark history in time to save them?
