Mickey Saves Santa

An icon as big as Santa Claus, Mickey Mouse puts his imprint on the holiday. It is only natural that, when the jolly old elf goes missing, Mrs. Claus comes to Mickey to rescue Christmas in “Mickey Saves Santa.” She reports that Santa is trapped on Mistletoe Mountain and, as a result, no toys will be delivered to children. Mickey enlists the aid of Donald whose reprehensible temper must be curbed, warns Mrs. Claus, who tells him he must be nice. The epic animation adventure takes seventeen minutes, nearly three times the length of a traditional cartoon. A second tale also involves Goofy needing the assistance of Mickey to deliver a lost baby bird back to its mother in “Goofy’s Bird.” Rounding out a trio of episodes, Donald Duck is the central figure in a game of hide-and-seek.
