Clutch (Nick Damici) is a former boxer who lives in Mulberry Street, in an old tenement building recently condemned by big corporate development. Among the tenants, we found the bartender Kay (Bo Corre), who has a soft spot for Clutch, and Coco (Ron Brice), a cross-dresser and best friend of Clutch. Casey (Kim Blair), the daughter of Clutch, has just been released from the Veteran's hospital, where she ended injured after her stay in the Middle East, and Cluth and Coco are waiting for her. During the day there is a crescendo of newscasts, first about rats' sightings, then about rats' attacks. Soon the subway is closed down and New York is quarantined, since the victims who survive the rats' bites are readily transformed in something evil that it is no more human. While Casey tries hard to reach his father, Clutch will struggle to save his friends under siege in Mulberry Street and to rescue Kay in the bar where she works.
