Can a baby thrown into the garbage be rescued by a homeless man and given to Shaolin monks? Yes, it is possible. Fang (Jay Chow) grows up being taught the mysteries of kung fu by the Master (Eddy Ko) who abruptly dies in the middle of a lesson, but the boy grows up fast and observes all closely. At age 20, he decides to try his skills in college on the basketball team. Here he meets Lily (Charlene Choi), the girl of his dreams. When his old monastery is taken over by fake kung fu masters, Fang must transcend sports and kung fu, remembering all the lessons of his youth to win the day and perhaps learn the identity of his long-lost father.
