A young, female, college student (Emily Blunt) finds a fellow student (Ashton Holmes) to share a ride with, to go back home for Christmas break. They need to get home before a huge snow storm hits, so they decide to take a shortcut. The shortcut passes through a relatively unpopulated, countryside area. They end up stuck in a snow bank, with no way to get out, and they are haunted by the people of the past, who have died in the same spot, and the many horrible events that had occurred there. The huge amount of fear and desperation drives the couple closer together, and an intense relationship develops between the two.
