The Cradle is a suspenseful movie. Frank (Lucas Haas) and Julie (Emily Hampshire) have a newborn baby named Sam (Ellisa Madeline Marks). They decide to move to a remote country house for a new beginning. There is immediate friction between Frank and Julie about the move. Julie is not happy about moving to the country house. She also has a strained relationship with baby Sam. Frank tries to be supportive of Julie with her issues, but his resentment and anxiety grow the longer they stay in the house. In the first day in the house, there is a storm that takes out the power and the roads are blocked so they can't leave to get help. Frank decides to wander around the property and comes upon another house. He investigates and finds an old woman living there named Helen (Amanda Smith). She is very hostile towards Frank. She wants nothing to do with him and warns him to stay away. Meanwhile, Frank is having strange visions in the house and his anxiety about baby Sam being hurt is overwhelming him. Julie becomes more and more distant and despondent. He tries to enlist Helen to help again and again knowing she is the only one who can help. Although he didn't receive the help he wanted, the help he received will haunt and torture him forever.
