In “Silk,” a team of scientists discover and trap the spirit of a young paranormal boy using a device called a “Menger Sponge.” The “sponge” captures the electromagnetic energy of a murderous young spirit, allowing a member of the team, who is initially reluctant to join the case, to read his lips and understand his story and his motivation behind his violence. They also have to deal with betrayal, and interfering government agents in their quest to discover the mystery behind the “silk” that ties a supernatural being to the natural world. Eventually, the scientists take a risk by releasing the spirit to try follow it around to track its history and how he died and try to understand how they can stop it from killing again.
