During World War II, Josef Mengele worked as a doctor in concentration camps, performing terrible acts of torture on innocent people in the name of science. Besides the physical torture, Nazis established terrible forms of mental trauma in the prisoners. One of these efforts was the Sonderkommandos, a group of Jewish prisoners who helped the Nazis exterminate Jews in exchange for a few more months of life. Dr. Miklos Nyiszli (Allan Corduner) was a Sonderkommando, and the head pathologist at Auschwitz. The Sonderkommandos worked together to organize an armed revolt against their captors, the only one of its kind at Auschwitz. Just before the uprising, one of the groups finds a girl who had survived the gas chamber. They desperately try to save her at the risk of endangering the uprising. Can they risk the chance of saving one life versus saving thousands?
