A fact-based television mini-series about the life of Elvis Presley, the legendary king of rock 'n' roll. ELVIS – THE EARLY YEARS chronicles Presley's humble beginnings through to his meteoric rise to fame. Made with the full cooperation and participation of the Elvis Presley Estate, it is the first time in a biographical film that Elvis Presley's master recordings have been heard. Irishman Jonathan Rhys Meyers puts in an exceptionally convincing performance as The King. Having already played a rock star in VELVET GOLDMINE, Meyers is aptly suited to playing Elvis. His stunning performance earned him a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television in 2005. Meyers is ably supported by Randy Quaid (INDEPENDENCE DAY) as 'Colonel' Tom Parker and Rose McGowan (SCREAM) as Ann-Margret.
