Madeline Matheson (Jordan Ladd) is a gentle, hippie-ish young woman looking forward to the birth of her child. But then Madeline is involved in a tragic accident, and loses both her husband Michael (Stephen Park) and her unborn baby. She decides to go ahead and carry her stillborn fetus to term, but when little Grace is born she surprises everybody by being alive... Or sort of alive, at least. But she doesn't look right and doesn't smell right, and it's not milk she craves. Grace feeds on blood, and Madeline is determined to do anything to provide for her strange little baby.
