Aubrey Davis (Amber Tamblyn) travels to Tokyo on behalf of her bed-ridden mother. Foreign to the customs, language, and even the deadly force involved in her sister’s, Karen Davis (Sarah Michelle Gellar) possible involvement in her boyfriend’s death, Aubrey is determined to take her sister out of the hospital and back to America. With the help of Eason (Edison Chen), a reporter, Aubrey traces her sister’s actions to the cause that becomes a threat to their lives. In order to be friends with the popular girls in her international school in Tokyo, Allison (Arielle Kebbel) enters a burned haunted house, the source of several mysterious deaths. Jake (Mathew Knight), still feeling the death of his mother, is untrusting of his mother-to-be, and yet, his older sister, Lacey (Sarah Roemer) gets along fine with. Along with this are the suspicious activities of his neighbors. All three stories combine to bring light to the vengeful cause, “The Grudge”. And while it had spawned from a burned house in Tokyo, it’s power spreads.
