“Yogen” is a story about Professor Hideki Satomi (Hiroshi Mikami) who while stopping off at a roadside phone booth to e-mail his works through the Internet to his university of employment and finds his destiny. When spotting a newspaper with a picture of his five-year-old daughter, Nana (Hana Inoue) in the obituary section, he sees his wife, Ayaka Satomi (Noriko Sakai) trying to unbuckle her seat belt before a truck with faulty breaks collides into the car. Now three years later, the married couple are divorced and Ayaka is researching people who claim they have paranormal experiences through reading an evil newspaper that shows them the future while they are cursed to be powerless without saving the victims. Now Hideki has changed the future by saving Ayaka and now becomes trapped in a private Hell of his own making.
